Our Big Mess!

Well, it has been awhile since I have posted but here is what has happened during the last 2 weeks. On Sunday May 3rd we had a major sewage flood starting in our main floor bathroom, traveling down our duct system and ending in our basement furnace room and pouring out of the ceiling. So over the past 2 weeks we have had a billion people at our house. Starting with the plumber, water disaster clean up, heating and A/C , Insurance adjuster, carpet guys and finally the general contractors. It wasn't just a little damage, it was a lot. The general contractors finally started to replace the torn out sheet rock this past monday. Hopefully they will finish by this weekend and the painters can start next week. Then we have the carpet guys coming in to replace all the carpet. In the middle of that we also had to replace the furnace! What a mess. Oh well, this to shall pass and things are finally starting to progress. Here are some pictures.

This is the bathroom all torn apart

They cut sheet rock from the ceiling and walls.

This is water bubbling up in the paint

This is in the living room where they put up plastic

We also went bowling with the Cottles a few weeks ago. Here are some more pictures.

A day at the Zoo

Well, today was Kasen's first trip to the zoo. I can't really say that he had any idea what was going on. I am not even sure if he saw the elephant or the giraffe. He was more interested in all the people walking around. I do know that he saw some of the animals in the small animal house. I am not sure what he thought...he just starred at them. Oh well, we had fun anyway. We went with some of my friends and their kids.

The giraffe is in the background so you know we are at the zoo!

My first Haircut

Well, the first haircut went pretty well. He had just woken up so he was a bit tired. He didn't even cry when the clippers came out.
My favorite trick... on my hands and feet.

I Hate Swimming!

We took Kasen to the rec center a couple of days ago to see if he liked the pool better than the Vegas pool. Well, not really. He clung to me so bad. I think what he hated the most was all of the other kids splashing around. And maybe it was still a little cold for him. He shivered most of the time. Towards the end he seemed to be a little more okay but I wouldn't go as far as saying that he liked it. I decided I am going to have to make a weekly trip to the pool until he likes it!

Like Father like Son

I walked in my room one day after running an errand and this is what I found....

I thought it was pretty cute and had to take a picture. Unfortunately I ended up waking them both up.
